RCMS LEADERSHIP

RCMS Principal

Shelbi is excited about her new adventure as Principal of RCMS. She graduated from New Mexico State University with a bachelor’s degree in Agriculture education and extension and then earned her master’s degree in educational administration through Grand Canyon University. She is a native of Payson and graduated from Payson High school. Shelbi is happy to be able to give back to the community that sparked her love for education. Like always once a Longhorn always a Longhorn!!

Dean of Students

Jake has been working in education since 2008. A graduate from Arizona State University, Jake spent his first 8 years as a special education teacher serving students with varying disabilities. During those 8 years he spent time at Julia Randall Elementary School and Payson High School specializing in working with children with high needs. In 2016 Jake moved into his role as Dean of Students at Rim Country Middle School.

 

Principal's Secretary

Monica Mavis has worked in a school district setting since 2001. She has worked in various positions such as a copy tech, receptionist, attendance clerk, bookstore coordinator, and administrative assistant. She enjoys interacting with the students and watching them grow from year to year. In her free time she enjoys time with her family, camping, fishing and cookouts.

Instructional Coach

After teaching 21 years in the Payson Unified School District I am excited to start my position as an Instructional Coach at Rim Country Middle School! Having earned my own education through our district I then earned my Bachelors of Science in Education from Northern Arizona University.  I am a native Arizonan and love that I have the opportunity to be a part of educating the youth in the community I grew up in.

Counselor

Mr. Creighton has been with the Payson Unified School District for the last 30 years. He taught 4th, 5th, and 6th grade, and has been the Intervention Specialist at RCMS for the last 11 years. He loves being a part of positive change in our youth and enjoys seeing them grow as students and human beings.

PUSD Air quality - Horton Fire Smoke

Due to the heavy smoke in the area from the Horton Fire PUSD will be calling a Red Flag morning for the week of January 6th through the 9th, 2025. This will be in place till 10:15 a.m. each morning.
This means that P.U.S.D. faculty and staff will work to bring students indoors during this time and there will be no outside morning recess.
