Ms. Hoyt has been serving the Payson School District since 1996. She was an attendance secretary at the High School and an administrative assistant at the district office before she became a teacher. She has been teaching since 2005. She has her Bachelor’s degree from NAU. She also has two Master’s Degrees. One in Elementary Education and the other in Educational Technology, both from NAU. Ms. Hoyt’s 4th grade classroom is busy with whole group and small group instruction. She has a checkbook system that utilizes authentic classroom economy experiences. Each student receives a monthly salary and pays monthly rent. There is even a mock income tax lesson in April. She enjoys preparing young minds to be successful in their future. Growth Mindset and Capturing Kids Hearts concepts are practiced by both teacher and students. If she looks familiar, you may have seen her displaying her artwork with Rim Country Artists or watching grandkids play at Payson Sporting Events.
