Kaytee Barnes has been in the educational field since 2009. As a California native, she started as a student supervisor running a No Child Left Behind program of 23 kindergartners. Kaytee wanted to pursue her nursing career but couldn't leave the kids so she became a school nurse from 2013 to 2016. Kaytee moved into special education in 2016 as an instructional assistant/ paraprofessional in a Structured Autism Class. Kaytee has worked with children of all ages, ranging from preschool to high school. Kaytee has acquired certificates in behavioral modification, autism training, crisis prevention, and supervisor training. In 2021, she transitioned to working with adults in a day program where she assisted clients with daily living skills and societal integration. She became a program supervisor with that company and worked there for 1.5 years. Kaytee and her husband decided to relocate to Payson, AZ in order to assist Kaytee's family. In Payson, she has found great joy in working with elementary school children and has been learning new ways to adapt and assist the students. Kaytee finds it very rewarding to see their excitement in life to learn and play. Kaytee has many hobbies- mostly water sports like surfing, paddleboarding, fishing, and swimming as well as snowboarding. Her favorite pastimes include hiking with her dogs, watching football games with her son and getting out in nature as much as possible. As far as her "WHY" Behaviors are a form of communication, these children often don't have a voice and need someone to advocate for them to live their best life, they are the Angels among us. Kaytee plans to retire in Payson.
