Mrs. McKee graduated with a BS in Elementary Education from Grand Canyon University in 2007, and in 2014 she received an Early Childhood Certificate. She taught early education at a private school for eight years in Paradise Valley before relocating to her hometown of Payson to continue her love of teaching. Within the Payson school district, she taught in a Kindergarten class for nine years and loved it, and then in 2024 she went back to early childhood roots to teach in the preschool program. Her passion is to help young students find a love of learning that can last a lifetime through their personal interests and by providing a variety of educational modalities. In addition, creating an environment of love, friendship, and empathy is a large focus throughout the school day as students are encouraged to work cooperatively while practicing communication and problem solving skills with teacher support, lessons, and guidance.
In her free time, Mrs. McKee enjoys reading (historical fiction and psychological thrillers are her favorites), as well as camping and spending time with her family, which includes her fellow teacher husband, their son (born in 2010), and their daughter (born in 2015). Some of her favorite things include dinosaurs, anything Disney, and coffee.
