Music Education at PUSD

PUSD is proud to offer K-12 music education, funded from revenue generated by the 2019 voter-approved Override. Music education is vital for many reasons, including:
Confidence
Performing can help kids build pride and confidence.
Creative thinking
Music allows kids to express themselves in unique ways that can help develop their imagination and creative thinking.
Coordination
Music education can improve coordination, especially between the hands and eyes.
Language skills
Music can help kids develop their language skills by exposing them to a large amount of vocabulary in a short amount of time.
Teamwork
Music education can teach kids about teamwork as they work together to perform.
Engagement
Music education is important for engagement and participation in school.
SAT scores
Students who have experience with music performance or appreciation may score higher on the SAT.
