Payson High School

Mrs. Siler grew up in Tucson and fell in love with story-telling while playing Bible characters in church. She studied theatre in high school, college, community theatre, and professional theatre. She married the most amazing man ever, John L. Siler (a show romance) in 1984, moved to Payson, and volunteered for his experimental drama class 1987-88. Together, they built a strong and viable theatre program. Mrs. Siler was the first Auditorium Manager, from 1991-2008. When she retired in 2004, Mrs. Siler took over the program as full-time drama teacher and Thespian Troupe Director. Along with two enthusiastic students, she chartered a Junior Thespian Troupe in 2005 which met after school twice a week. To help her students meet certain levels of competitive theatrical skills in the professional entertainment world, Mrs. Siler became CTE Certified in 2012 and warped her classes into a four-year CTE Stagecraft Program. She also served on the AZ State Thespian Board for 15 years and continues to hone her skills as a theatre artist and educator. Mrs. Siler seeks to be a person of integrity, character, and blessing in all of her endeavors.
